London: Still Unbeaten at Mid-Season Break
By Carlos Fernandes da Silva
Mid-season here for the FSL and the London Wanderers have been the most dominant team at this point in the season. Having gone unbeaten so far, the English team are sitting at the top of the table with 15 points, 4 points clear of Norden FK in second.
Their main man from Morroco, Yuri Haji, has been involved in 7 goals, having scored 4 and assisted 3. “It feels great to be top of the league right now,” said Haji. “I’m excited for the rest of the season play out, and I’m hoping that we’re able to keep our unbeaten streak.” When asked about his goal contributions, Haji said “I wasn’t expecting to have this many goals and assists by the middle of the season, but I know the manager will be wanting more from me and I don’t want to disappoint.”
London’s goalkeeper, Samuel Tolo, has also had quite the season, with four clean sheets and 3 goals conceded, the best performance in the league by any goalkeeper. “I’m honestly very happy that we’re doing so well. I wouldn’t have it any other way,” said the keeper. “I’m happy with my performance so far, and I know that as games go by I’m only going to show how much work I’ve put in the training grounds to get here.”
It’s an exciting time for the Wanderers, and if they keep playing the way they have, they are sure to keep their top spot on the table.
