Tijani gets his first win as Brussels captain

Tijani has had a tough start to his FSL captaincy as Brussels have suffered defeats in every match since he arrived: a 3-2 loss in Zagreb, a 3-0 loss in Vienna, and a 0-2 loss at home against Roma. Finally, a favorable matchup, against bottom of the table Nomades de Paris, was on the horizon. But then, the new-look Baguettes came out and beat Amsterdam in matchday 8, seeing Brussels fall to the bottom of the table.
In the first half, the home side broke the deadlock with a nice run in behind by Adrian Diego, who was able to find Patrick Forder to head it past the Paris GK, 1-0 23 minutes played. The visitors did not let the game get away from them, they continued to put pressure on the Brussels defense. 10 minutes after the first goal, Brussels' Adam Renard did the unthinkable and passed it directly into his own net; 1-1.
Not even five minutes later, the hosts reclaimed the lead as captain Tijani sent in a lovely cross to star striker Šehbajraktarević; 2-1.
After HT adjustments were made, the two opponents were deadlocked for nearly a half hour before Šehbajraktarević sealed the game. 80' a John Smith interception turned into a quick counter-attack allowing Tijani to pick up his second assist and Šehbajraktarević got his second brace of the season for Brussels; 3-1.
In a late effort to try to get something from the match, Paris threw everyone forward and journeyman Frederik Haaland found the substitute Terry Swallows to get one back; 3-2, but the game was not over yet! In additional time, LWB Willian Wallace was able to put a ball over the top of the Brussels defense, sending Tyler Hunt in 1-on-1 with Chad Cockney. Fortunately for Brussels, Hunt's shot beat Cockney, but couldn't beat the bar and Cockney pounced on it to see the score stay 3-2; Šehbajraktarević man of the match.
