BRUSSELS 0 - 2 VIENNA: REVIEW
Written by: Saad Maan, Forta Evening News
A few weeks prior to the match, all the talk was about Poe Finglebottom. How would he fare against his old club? Whilst still in the spotlight, Finglebottom is talked about for a very different reason. After the allegations to Finglebottom's name, he has been suspended from the league for four matchdays, meaning he won't play against Vienna this league season.
After a dry spell, Hoffmann would open the scoring in the 26th minute after his partner Bendtner played him through on goal. Hoffmann's usual composure was put on display as a lot of pressure was relieved from his shoulders. The remainder of the half could be best described as an end-to-end affair without all the excitement, as both teams just wanted to get back to the dressing room.
Coming out for the second half, Vienna showed us why they are top of the league. Controlling the opposition and limiting their chances. As Brussels' stamina withered away, Vienna would take advantage. In the 76th minute, Max Jaxon slotted the second goal of the night past Chad Cockney to kill whatever hope Brussels still had.
In the post-game press conference, Mungo Scruyazelv thanked the services of Madrid captain Billy Boyo as he managed to get a draw versus Zagreb. Scruyazelv jokingly stated that they'd send Danish striker Loørd Bendtner to Madrid next season, we're unsure if there's any truth to this statement. Due to the draw between Madrid and Zagreb, Vienna regained their safety net of three-points.
