Kerberos were caught off-guard by Madrid's tactical changes going into the matchday. This allowed Madrid to largely dominate possession throughout the opening minutes. Despite the possession, it was Jethro who'd have the first big chance of the match. In the 13th minute, Bai Chao sent in a cross from the byline, headed down by Jethro, only narrowly going wide.
Not one to rue his mistakes, Jethro pounced on a Billy Boyo error in the 15th minute, sidefooting it into the side of the net, leaving Jefferson chanceless. A large sigh could be heard across the stadium as Madrid's captain had committed a costly mistake.
Five minutes later, Billy Boyo once again, would lose his temper and lash out against Bai Chao right outside the penalty area. As Jethro stepped up to take the kick, he was pushed away by Bai Chao, who smashed it into the wall. Once again a sigh could be heard across the stadium, this time one of relief.
In the 35th minute, Woy Hodgson and scapegoat Billy Boyo played a one-two, sending the former through on goal. Under pressure, Hodgson smashed it into the top right corner, equalizing the scoring. In the midst of the celebrations, Billy Boyo grabbed Hodgson and tossed him over, seemingly upset over him not passing it back to him.
