With no major changes happening going into the fixture, Madrid were the heavy favourites. However, the collective of Brussels were set on ruining the party.
Early on, our expectations would be met as Lennox Vito continued his goal-scoring form as he grabbed the lead for Madrid. The goal came from an interesting attack, as Shmurda held up the play, heading it down to Bendtner, who in turn sent Vito through.
However, the lead wouldn't last. As only 10 minutes later, Brussels would find the equalizer. Mario Lavorata, from the left sideline, sent in a cross aimed for Tijani. Smartly, the Moroccan lets it roll past him to the feet of Anto Vukovic. Despite a weak effort, it ended up a goal thanks to the deflection from Madrid captain Billy Boyo.
Going into half-time, the scoreline was even despite Brussels dominating the play. Madrid made hopeful changes to change the momentum, but it wasn't to be.
Eleven minutes after the second half commenced, Matvei Sbinottov spun Bobby Shmurda, leaving him wide open outside the box. With a powerful strike, he gave Brussels the lead for the first time in the match.
Continuing to dominate the match, Brussels would see out the scoreline, getting an important three points in their hunt for a top four finish. This result sees Brussels jump up to 4th. Madrid dropped to 5th, with things possibly getting worse as Norden, just two points behind them, are yet to play.
