Two Second Half Goals Lift Kerberos Above Berlin
By Hingle McCrinkleberry
In the first prime-time slot of Match Day 5, we drew Berlin at home to Kerberos. Fresh off their recent scandal, the visitors made the trip to the AverageOpen Bowl as resolute underdogs, with pundits around the league suggesting this was akin to a Brussels or Paris game.
A boring first half was punctuated by a Berlin goal after 34 minutes, with Adrien Diego beginning a sequence on the half-way line, before receiving a beautiful ball from captain Floyd Lawton and coolly slotting it off the post and into the side netting of the goal.
After no half-time changes from either team, it was Kerberos who looked the better side after the break. They finally made their advantage count in the 60th minute as debutant combined with debutant and left back Walter Diaz powered home a header from Pingu Nootazuki's corner. In the 83rd minute, we were treated to a quick counter-attack from Kerberos, with Jethro's pass from his own half allowing Nootazuki to run unopposed through the middle of the field before powering the game winner past Rimjob Remmington.
Berlin will have been disappointed to lose today to a weakened Kerberos team, whereas the visitors will be pleased to secure the 3 points, with Nootazuki our well deserved Man of the Match.
