Zagreb wins a lead in the first leg of the FA Cup

When Zagreb NK and Athens Kerberos were drawn against each other, most people expected a high class affair, with a lot of goals to boot. These expectations were tampered with so far, as this game featured a few good chances, but not that many goals to boot.
The first chance was for Kerberos in the 5th minute, as Jethro prepares to take a freekick following a Lennon foul. From a good position, he only hit the wall, keeping the score level. It took some time before the next big chance, but in the 39th minute Bebe “Big Cheeto” Barry would send in Aki Hernandez who, through on goal, crossed it to his strike partner Vargas. The young forward was denied with an excellent save, which would see both teams enter the break level.
Both teams mostly had half-chances in the second half and with time running out, a lucky punch seemed out of reach. But Scooter McGavin would beat Sutherland on the right wing, send in a cross into the middle where Spaghettini claimed it, dribbled past two players and would end up slotting it into the bottom corner for a deserved 1-0 lead. Zagreb would hold onto their win, giving them a goal advantage for the return fixture.
