AD Lisboa pull off another shock result away in Greece

By Samantha Lennon-Knull, Forta Evening News

Two new teams expected to make their mark in FSL faced off in Match day 2. LP Kerberos played their controversial 4231, whilst AD Lisboa stuck to their tactic, dubbed 'La Formula' by many.

Just inside 10 minutes, it was all Lisboa, and they nearly had an early lead through Kalle Knull. The Swedish striker received a pass from Wood, turned, and had a shot with his left foot from outside the box hit the woodwork.

Much like the previous game in Match day 1, involving Lisboa and London, their first half dominance proved to end in a well-deserved goal. After a quick counter-attack involving Wood, a smart pass by 'Çağa', as he is nicknamed, resulted in a first time shot from Knull beating the Kerberos Goalkeeper, putting the 'Alfacinhas' up 1-0.

Despite this, the most expensive man in FSL, Jethro, missed a golden opportunity to level the scores after his poor effort was saved by the Maltese in the opposing goal. Going into half-time, Lisboa had double the shots and a handy amount of possession, but no Kerberos change was forthcoming.

On 76 minutes, Kerberos undeservedly levelled the game after Gomersall got his 5th of the season already, getting on the end of a Jaxon pass. It seemed the Greeks were happy to come away with the draw, but Lisboa gave the opposite impression, straight away subbing on debutant Templeton for Musson.

Less than 5 minutes later, another quick Lisboa counter-attack including Templeton, Knull and Yılmaz, the scorer, put them back in the lead, seemingly winning them the game. On 88 minutes, Knull and Templeton combined again on the counter, with the FSL legend slotting in Álvarez who made no mistake, making it 3-1 to the Portuguese side. Straight after, Holmes came on and made his Lisboa debut, replacing Gerkinov, who received a standing ovation from the fans who made the trip to Athens.
