Goal Fest In London
By: Itzin Ophdapost
Not many could have expected the spectacle to come when London hosted Brussels. There wasn't long to wait to get into the action, as Haji headed in from a corner after just 4 minutes, looping it in over a stranded keeper.
These seemed to knock Brussels out of their stride and out of shape, as Amzal netted a second to make it 2-0 in the early stages, shooting clinically from 20 yards into the bottom right corner. This was immediately compounded by a mistake from Kringle, epitomizing the defensive woes of the opening 30 minutes, allowing Haji through to smash in his second, and London's third, of the game. Thomas Kringle continued to have a poor game as he kept Amzal onside for a tap in at the far post, as London passed their way through the leakiest defense we've seen since Paris played Norden.
All was not lost though, and the Brussels manager had words to say at half-time, words that seemed to bring a goal out of nowhere, as Gay Philips pulled down a ball from over the top to volley home just 9 minutes into the second half. Moments later, he added to his tally, taking advantage of some mayhem in the box to strike clinically.
The four-goal deficit proved too much to overcome for Brussels, however, as Kazuki tap home after the keeper excellently parried Amzals close range effort at 69 minutes. This killed Brussels hopes, and the game. 5-2 it stayed as the game dwindled out.
