Match Summary
FC BERLIN 1-0 WW LONDON: REVIEW
By: Ron Innbach Turd III
One of the top teams in FSL against one of the bottom teams in FSL, this match was predicted to be a fairly easy win for London. Both teams were pressured to win as London needed this game to potentially move up to the #2 spot while Berlin was near relegation.
The first half saw several London chances squandered by bad passing and inaccurate crosses. Berlin, however, mostly focused on counter-attacks, getting some good chances. Their only deficit was their inability to capitalize on their 1v1s. Thus, the match ended up 0-0 in the half.
The first highlight in the second half came in the 52nd minute with a relatively close free kick for Berlin. Berlin didn’t capitalize on it, as the ball went out for a goal kick. A few minutes later, Berlin had another freekick, which they used in far better fashion: Floyd Lawton took the free kick and beautifully scored, the ball curved past the defenders and smashed through the left side of the goal. Floyd's goal for Berlin was incredible as it gave them the first goal of the game and a 1-0 lead!
London’s struggle with their offense continued after they went behind, while Berlin kept on countering: An incredible pass in the 69th minute saw Fantastico running toward goal with two defenders on his tail.
Unfortunately, a rather suspicious slide tackle caused him to lose the ball, leaving their chance unused. London failed to create a convincing chance and lost convincingly by a goal to nil.
