London defeats Warsaw in a 30-minute goal storm
Domenico Jordano (Nightingale Press) After losing points to the main rivals, London Wembley Wanderers were looking for a redemption match. As for Warsaw, they have only won against new teams so far, so it was crucial for them to prove they can play well against big clubs. It took under 7 minutes for Amine Amzal to score the opener. After a spectacular through ball from the midfield by Ibañez-Lopez, hosts captain put the ball into the upper right corner of the net. On the 13th minute Amine Amzal reached the penalty box with the ball and was about to ask for penalty after falling from collision with Finglebottom. However, Tomar Junior immediately shot the free ball into Warsaw's goal, changing the score to 2-0 and eliminating the need in penalty kick. A few attempts were made by the visitors, with Gabriel Ferrari's header denied by an amazing save from Pierre Toilet. But on the 19th minute it was Gabriel Mancini who, after the corner, sent the ball through home defense and into the lower corner. Now Warsaw decreased the handicap and restored their hopes. But not for long. Just 7 minutes after conceding a goal, the Peest-TILW duo asserted London's dominance by scoring the team's third goal in 26 minutes. A literal rain of goals for the viewers! After the 30 minutes of excitement, neither team managed to change the score once again. If the first half reminded an action movie, the second half was a tense conflict, with both sides creating efforts, but being careful enough to put the danger away. The beginning of the match decided the fate of both teams. Wembley Wanderers won the match 3-1, proving they are still relevant in the title race. Warsaw's defense failed the start of the match, but had a quite decent second half, showing that they can resist big teams like London.
