Norden Cause Shock In FA Cup Quarter-finals First Leg
By: Nico Guldborg
After comfortable knocking out Brussels over 2 legs, Norden lined up for their next challenge: London. With the 6-2 loss in the league still fresh in their minds, they were out for revenge. With London not playing a FA Cup game thanks to their first round bye, it was all to play for in the first leg.
London only took 9 minutes to create a chance, and they pounced on it instantly. As the London goalkeeper played a long ball to London's talisman, Amine, who quickly headed it to Tolvani. He found Tomar Jr who beautifully created space for Tolvani; as he took on a first touch shot perfectly past the keeper on the left side. London led 1-0. 19th minute now as London play it from the back. They are looking for a little gap in Norden's midfield to create space for their own players. The ball finds its way to Tolvani who creates space on the left side. He launches it to Amine, who takes on the shot. AND IT'S IN, LONDON LEAD 2-0.
Over the top of the goalkeeper, who didn't even attempt to jump. London are now in control and looking to make Norden's life painful, once again. Norden didn't wait too long, as straight from kick off they went on the attack. As FSL the biggest alpha, Andrew Tate, got the ball, he gave a cheeky pass behind London's defence. This ball found Kalevi Makela, who took on the shot first time, blasting it past the London goalkeeper. 28 minutes in Norden make it 2-1 and there's everything to play for.
London looked for another goal. Tolvani finds a ball to Tomar who dribbles but doesn't find a way past. He gives the ball to Amine, who tries the shot, but it's saved. Soon later, the Goalkeeper gives the ball away to Norden. The ball finds its way to Tate, who finds Tyrese Harden. Gets the ball back, blasts it at the goal AND IT'S A GOAL, IT'S A GOAL FOR NORDEN. 2-2 LEVEL ONCE AGAIN, ANDREW TATE WITH A GOAL FROM DISTANCE. 44 minutes in, and we have gone from London taking a comfortable lead to Norden tying it up. Can they complete the comeback?
It's been a bit of a quiet second half here. Norden here on the attack in the 59th minute. They play it fast around the midfield. The ball finds its way past the London defence. THERE'S HARDEN, HE TAKES THE SHOT AND IT'S A GOAL. NORDEN LEAD 2-3. And that's the end of the match, Norden completed their comeback. But there is still a second leg with everything to play for. Can Norden continue their cup run?, or will London bounce back. Come join us again in the FA Cup Quarter-finals Second Leg.
