MD 14 MILANO CALCIO 1–1 FC AMSTERDAM

THE POINTS ARE SHARED IN MILAN AS BOTH SIDES FAIL TO CONVERT THEIR MANY CHANCES

✍️ Written by Saad Maan, Forta Evening News

With both teams stranded in no-mans land, the goal for Milano and Amsterdam was to grab all three points, in the hopes of latching onto the top seven teams and their hunt for glory.

Amsterdam, hot from the start, opened the scoring in the 9th minute. In a fluid counter-attack, Harald Blåtand flicked on a long pass from Dmytro Junior, which in turn sent Carter Vickers through on goal. Despite not being a part of the league for long, he'd make himself known as he converted the chance with a powerful effort.

Following Amsterdam's goal, Milano would up the tempo and pump balls forward. The best of their chances would come in the 16th minute, as Babatunde Agachuthu blasted a volley right at Oscar Vert.

The pressure would be rewarded, as in the 22nd minute, Agachuthu was robbed of a chance at goal by Edward Boama, who committed to a tackle which can only be described as a disgrace to the sport and league. Up stepped the selfish and confident captain Raiden Vokovic. Matching his confidence, he smashed it into the bottom left corner to level the score.

As both teams played the clock, they went into half-time happy with the scoreline. However, greedy as they are, Amsterdam wanted more. The Dutchmen opted for a penis shaped formation last seen by now defunct Dublin FC.

The second half would start promisingly, with Amsterdam knocking on Milano's door. Amsterdam would ride the wave of momentum gained early on, eventually creating a clear-cut chance in the 77th minute. JD Parkour, Dmytro Jr's partner in crime, was sent through on goal. As he was about to strike the ball, he slipped, sending it into the stands.

With captain Jack David berating the new recruit, it wouldn't be of surprise if the midfielder put in a transfer request.

As the mood dropped, so did the quality of the game. It would end 1-1 with both sides happy to at the very least come away with a point. Despite the lower parts of the table always moving around, both teams stay in 8th and 10th as they prepare for MD 15.
