Deportivo Madrid bounce back against Nomades de Paris
By: Ray Porter
After a bad second match day, Deportivo Madrid got back to winning ways as they win their first away fixture of the season. The game proved itself to be a tough watch as both teams struggled to create chances. A rare exception happened in the 22nd minute as Madrid found right back Kalea Wilson after a great combination, whose low driven cross was converted by young forward Nico Alvarez. Madrid remained 1-0 in the lead until the halftime whistle.
Paris' best chance came through Snaz, but the attacker had his effort from inside the box denied by Becky Blake. Madrid countered directly and was unlucky that Mancini's header after a Cedar cross was denied. After another Mancini miss in the 84th minute, Madrid fans are left wondering if he even hit the contract with his pen when he signed it.
However, Paris proved themselves even less prolific and deservedly lost the relegation 6-pointer 1-0. They will finish this match day in last place, still without a point to their name. Madrid however is off to a surprisingly good start, having collected 6 points from their three opening games.
