Matchday 14 Match Report. Roma SS vs. Norden FK
Patience brings victory to cold-minded Norden
By: Domenico Jordano (Nightingale Press)
Roma and Norden both took their 14th match seriously. The Roman gladiators had a good possibility to get out of the bottom three by showing their fans a good game on the home pitch. However, the Season 1 vice-champions weren’t satisfied with their midtable position and aimed to restore their former glory.
The first half of the match ended with no goals - a result of highly careful possession-based play from both clubs. With so much on the stake, no side wanted to risk at the beginning of the match, waiting rather for the opponent’s mistake.
The toughest fight was left for the second half. The Vikings’ patience turned out to be successful: In the 59th minute referee saw a risky play from Rizzo, and it was enough for him to award the away team with a free kick right before Roma’s penalty box. Norden’s number 69 Andrew Tate went on to punish the Italians by scoring a free kick goal straight into the net. Not even multiple corners and counterattacks helped the Mediterraneans save the situation. Norden put the match under their control and marched on victoriously to their 1-0 win.
