VK Vienna 1-0 Deportivo Madrid: MD 22
by Ron Innbach Turd III
League Champions vs one of the highest anticipated teams for next season. Vienna is only partaking in this match because they have to. It's all smiles and beer. Madrid comes in with high hopes and high energy, proving their worth to Joel who's transfer rumors came true.
Kickoff had been started and Vienna visibly played with more relaxation than we've ever seen a team play with. They were all calm and there were no frowns from any of their players. Hoffmann seemed like the only player who really cared as early in the game (04') he attempted a shot though unsuccessful. The game was quite uneventful for a good while until finally in the 20th minute a race between Vienna GK and Madrid ST broke out.. Vienna GK managed to scoop up the ball in time. Nothing else happens during this half.
The game had been dead even, 50/50 possession. Vienna began to get more serious as they wanted to win for their own pride. Madrid on the other hand was worried. The uneventful first half had fans leaving the arena.
The second half started just as boring as the first. It seemed like both teams were having an off-day and nobody was really trying. The first real attack of the game came from Vienna who did an amazing through pass for a classic Hoffmann GOAL. The crowd was chanting "HAIL HOFFMANN", "HAIL HOFFMANN", "HAIL HOFFMANN". Vienna relaxed and took a sip of beer while Madrid was in shambles. Literally nothing else happened for the rest of the game. Madrid tried their hardest to formulate an attack, but Vienna just shooed them away. Great win for the record-breaking Vienna team.
