Vienna on 6 game winning streak after top-of-the-table clash
By: Ray Porter
Matchday 6 opened with reigning Champions London Wembley Wanderers, currently in Second Place, facing home side Vienna Kontinental, the league leader's with five wins from five. The game saw the debuts for Bendtner and Tomar at their respective new clubs.
It was London who struck first, as Ray Peest found Tomar Jr. in the box. The Debutant had no trouble finding the back of the net from his position near the penalty spot. With 15 minutes played, the Challengers were leading. But their lead wouldn't hold until half-time, as Vienna's Moritz Hoffmann scored the equalizer from a Dos Reis lay off, the midfielder had forced a high turnover before that. 1:1 at half-time seemed like a blessing for London, who scored their only shot of the half.
Not to be outdone by Tomar Jr., Bendtner scored his own debut goal, as he nearly broke the net after a Rahman through ball. Trying to get back into the game, London started increasing their efforts, which would be rewarded in the 85th minute as Kazuki was the last link of a great combination which saw London grab a late equalizer. But Vienna would have their happy ending as Rahman tested his luck with a long ball, which Hoffmann reached. The German had no problem scoring in the box to send Vienna's fans into a frenzy as the Austrian club stays unbeaten in this season.
