Vienna, the clear favourites here in the Lilacs FA Cup knockouts, are facing the relegation side Paris in Round 1 at home.
Right from the first half whistle, Vienna started dominating with over 75% ball possession as the wide midfield of Paris was getting outnumbered in the middle. The first good chance for Vienna came in during the 25th minute from a corner kick, but Max Jaxon couldn't finish the header and the ball went over the bar. Paris kept struggling to clear the ball outside their box and very soon, in the 34th minute, Moritz Hoffmann makes it 1-0 for the Austrians. Siefad Rahman from the right flank sends a beautiful cross to the far post and Hoffmann scores a heading goal in the bottom left corner.
Both teams made some tactical adjustments at half-time and Loørd Bendtner came on for King Hart at the attacking midfield position. Vienna kept pushing for another goal as the French side couldn't get outside their own half. With the lack of scoring opportunities in the second half for both teams, the game ended 1-0 in the first leg as Paris had no shots on target.
