MD 13: VIENNA KONTINENTAL 6-0 SC HAMBURG 23
Vienna devours the Hamburgers in an emphatic victory.
Written by: Domenico Jordano
With their unbeaten streak in the league being broken, Vienna had their aims set on Hamburg.
Going into the fixture with low expectations, Hamburg held their own for the first 13 minutes. That was until Max Jaxon fired home a long ranger after Keetch played it into his feet.
Going into half-time, Hamburg were still in it. With a few half-chances, they believed they could go for it in the final 45. Many fans in the stands could be heard urging the Hamburg captain to maintain their solidity, but the headstrong child remained ignorant.
Punishing the incapable captain of Hamburg, Max Jaxon scored the second of the night in the 59th minute. Similarly to his first goal, the lethal midfielder held up the play before unleashing a lethal near-post strike.
In a move that's sparked suspicion of max fixing, Hamburg pushed their single holding midfielder up into attack, despite the match being competitive. This action would directly result in Vienna scoring four goals in 15 minutes. The first of which was scored by Moritz Hoffmann, after Max Jaxon sent him through on goal with a stylish flick-on. The second was also scored by Hoffmann, after Becky Blake put her sloppy shot-stopping on display. Sharing the love, Hoffmann would head down the ball to the chest of Kain, volleying home Vienna's fifth of the night. Right from kick-off, Vienna won the ball back before quickly sending Hoffmann through on goal once more, who made no mistake as he scored the final goal of the night.
It is unknown whether this outrageous match was the result of match-fixing or Vienna just being superior. With Hamburg's captain Akiyama Hernandez allegedly wanting to leave the German club, a transfer to Vienna wouldn't be all that surprising.
