Ajexzi makes Leeds City History with Victory in The Lilac’s FA Cup Final
By Saad Maan
The Norwegian is the first man to win a trophy as manager with the Leeds club, who picked up their first win in the competition.
Ajexzi was left celebrating a unique feat on Friday as he capped his third season in charge of Leeds by leading the Millers to victory in the Lilac’s FA Cup. The former DSO 66 manager was appointed as the first Leeds City manager in the seventh season of Fantasy Simulation League, being quick to impress the Leeds faithful as he took them to newfound heights. But while the results kept coming in, seeing Leeds City take pole position in the league on numerous occassions, a late dip was inevitable which saw the Millers missing out on any silverware.
Leeds City therefore needed victory at the Allianz Arena to add their very first piece of silverware to the, otherwise, empty trophy cabinet, which duly arrived in a 1-0 victory over the overachieving Exeter Pirates. After a scrappy affair, Kimball Belmont rose to the occasion and fired the Millers ahead in the 85th minute with a brilliant volley inside the box.
No man before Ajexzi had ever led Leeds City to glory, the Norwegian having previously tasted silverware on two occasions during his time at DSO 66.
Friday’s win consolidates Leeds’ status as one of the most successful clubs competing in FSL, pulling clear of the rest of the pack who continue to search for their first piece of silverware.
