Matchday 3: AD Lisboa 0-1 Brussels KV

Coming into the match AD Lisboa occupied the 8th position a comfortable midtable position while Brussels KV found themselves in 12th place closer to the lower end of the table. The first half of the match remained relatively quiet with both teams testing the waters. However it was in the 30th minute when Brussels began to apply pressure. Joestar attempted a long-range shot that unfortunately for the visitors sailed wide of the target. Brussels continued to push forward after halftime with Tijani unleashing a left-footed shot in the 56th minute that missed the mark. In an attempt to change their fortunes Lisboa made a substitution bringing on Yilmaz for Senga hoping to add some attacking impetus. But it was Brussels who continued to threaten with Vukovic coming close in the 60th minute his long-range effort forcing a crucial intervention from Lisboa's Roy who headed the ball out of bounds. With the match still goalless in the 72nd minute tensions rose. Lisboa made a double substitution introducing Rodrygo and Thompson for Lozano and Zidane looking to shake things up and find a breakthrough. Four minutes later Brussels decided to make their own change bringing on Brown for Markinhos. In the 87th minute Sebajraktarevic delivered a perfectly timed pass to Tijani setting him up for a one-on-one opportunity against the Lisboa keeper. Tijani displayed composure and skill as he calmly slotted the ball into the net with his left foot breaking the deadlock and putting Brussels in the lead. Lisboa desperate to salvage a point made one final substitution introducing Doekoe for John. As the final whistle blew Brussels KV celebrated their hard-fought 1-0 victory securing three valuable points. The result saw AD Lisboa plummet to 13th place firmly in the lower tier of the table while Brussels KV climbed to 9th place establishing themselves in midtable.
