Match Summary

Athens vs Zagreb MD21

by Conner Munist

Zagreb were so busy looking for the title they forgot about London behind them, if they didn’t win they would drop down to 2nd. Kerberos on the other hand were aiming to finish 4th. Neither changed their formation, but Lennon put in LMF was note worthy.

Wasnt long before the first goal, surprisingly it was Kerberos who struck first with Jethro the hitman catching Majmunovic off guard making it 1-0. Ten minutes later Zagreb were shocked again and it had to be Jethro again who scored after being set through on goal by shsbsb. Barry had a chance to get Zagreb back in the game in the 23rd minute but he sliced the shot with his right foot. You thought it couldnt get any worse for Zagreb but it did in the 36th minute they conceded again and the goalscorer being their old player Bas Kurt who did not hold back in celebrating. Neagu looked to reply but as always shocking execution.

Neagu had the best chance again in the second half, however, as expected he couldn’t put it in the back of the net. Eventually, he was subbed off for Jay Sobaksu. McGavin after last Matchday performance thought he could get on the scoresheet but was no where near the target. Zagreb did finally breakthrough with the main man Bebe Barry holding off all the Kerberos defenders in the 74th minute to make it 3-1. That wouldn’t inspire a comeback however, it was infact Athens who scored again with Bai Chao shot deflected off Lennon into the back of the net. Zagreb decided to start shooting from impossible angles before the final whistle blew. Kerberos with a huge win to go back into 4th where a Zagreb embarrassingly dropped into 3rd with one game to go.

Man of the Match Mick Lee, aura and presence world class defending.
Flop of the Match Marcus Neagu, doesn’t need an explanation.
