Kerberos Routs Brussels in 9 Goal Season Opening Thriller
By Hingle McCringleberry

Brussels, a beautiful city twice defeated by Germany in it's recent history, has once again been routed. Victory this time goes to the Hellenes of Kerberos, who cruised to a 7-2 victory on the back of Dave Gomersell's 4 goal haul.

Early in the first half it looked like we were going to have a game on our hands. A quick fire double from Gomersell, and Charles, for Kerberos was negated by a brilliant shot from Gay Phillips, and a sublime (read, lucky) header from Shirley Shaw. After the scores leveled however, Kerberos went on a run unlike one we've ever seen in FSL before. We rolled into halftime with the game sporting a 5-2 scoreline, the biggest ever seen in FSL, behind goals from Jethro, and two more from Gomersell.

After the break, Kerberos put the ice on the game with another two goals, it was Gomersell and Jethro again sharing the honors as we finished 7-2 in Brussels, for the highest scoring game in FSL History. A story for the FSL history books was written this afternoon by Kerberos, and just how far can this team go this season?

We'll end on this footnote, renowned FSL reporter Ray Porter had listed Brussels as one of the worst two teams in FSL, so maybe this result shouldn't be too surprising, but teams handle the opening day jitters differently, and it's safe to say, Kerberos took care of business here today.
