Terrible ref overshadows draw
By: Ray Porter
Norden FK against Brussels KV was hyped as a massive game in the lower half of the table, unfortunately the referee couldn't give this very emotional game the guidance it needed. This game would also show us if Tate would go a seventh match straight without a goal, or if he can break his curse.
Both teams had good chances early in the match, while Tate hit the bar with a shot from range, Emir pulled it wide from a similar position.
Near the end of the first half, Andrew Tate had more luck and finished a good combination which found him free in the box. However, Norden couldn't keep this lead until half-time as Fink gave up a Freekick on the edge of the box after a terrible foul on Emir Šehbajraktarević which should have seen him sent off. The Bosnian scored the freekick, making it 1-1 at halftime.
After the start of the second half, Adrian Diego was the end of a combination by Brussels which he finished perfectly with a calm finish in the box.
In the 66th minute, another Brussels player fell victim to a horrible foul. Tyrese Harden should have been the second Norden player to be sent off today, but like Fink before him, he evaded the boot. And that would have consequences as he scored the equaliser after a Tate assist two minutes later.
The game ended 2–2 thanks to a graciously awful performance from the ref, who heavily favored Norden today. We hope that he will be checked for any signs of corruption.
