Match Summary

Boring, Boring, Deportivo!
By: Ray Porter

Matchday 10 saw last season's Football United League Cup Winners Deportivo Madrid face FC Amsterdam away. A fixture which was hyped up by hipsters as a tactical battle turned out to be a boring affair.

It took 16 minutes for the first chance of the game to happen, as Bai Chao missed a sitter after a bad clearance by Madrid. Had he not lost his balance, his shot would have found the back of the net. In the 30th minute, Ballsenger had a pot shot from the edge of the box, but was denied by Oscar Vert.

The second half opened with another tragic miss by Mancini, who, through on goal, shot 3 whole meters wide, while he has shown some impressive performances this season, he is yet to play well consistently. The rest of the second half followed this trend: A few solid chances, but no solid finishes.

Madrid did not use their chance to keep up with the top 3, but can build on their fourth clean sheet in five matches. Billy Boyo's decision to drop Becky Blake in favor of Jefferson is paying off well for the Spaniards.
