MD 16: DEPORTIVO MADRID 4-0 KS WARSAW

By: Conner Munist

Having just overtaken Brussels, the morale in the Madrid dressing room had slightly improved and were ready to face the struggling Warsaw. Madrid switched up to their 3 at the back set up only difference putting Wood up top, whereas Warsaw, the giant killers, wanted a tactical revolution, no one knows the reason.

It was a snowy day, which affected the pitch conditions, but that didn’t stop Madrid from scoring straight away. Instead of shooting, Bendtner selflessly passes to Shmurda who sets himself up with a great touch, smashing it past the goalkeeper. Madrid were preparing to dominate the game, but were struggling after taking the lead. Warsaw were pushing for the equalizer. However, it was Madrid who doubled the lead after a Warsaw goal kick was intercepted by Boyo. Vito found Shmurda who lays up Bendtner to score, Bendtner sent a first-time rocket past the goalkeeper, allowing Madrid to relax going into the second half.

The only second half change was Sobaksu coming on for Wood for more defensive cover. Madrid dominated even more in the second half as the Warsaw players looked tired.

In the 60th minute, from a corner, Madrid would triple the lead with a Hussein assist for Shmurda, who places the shot into the bottom left corner. Madrid would then rest some players, bringing on Isagi and Jole Mole. Amgroot would then push up into CF for tactical reasons, and that decision paid off. Bendtner would find another assist, setting up Amgroot infront of goal. Not fazed, the DMF laughed as he slotted the ball past the goalkeeper, the Madrid fans went wild in a truly historic moment as club legend Amgroot finds he back of the net again. Nothing of note happened after, until the final whistle.

After this result, Warsaw finds themselves very near the relegation zone, it is not looking positive for them. Madrid, however, found some lost form. Maybe they can get back on track and finish the season in a respectable position.
