MD 11: FC BERLIN 0–0 ZAGREB NK

Stalemate in Germany as Berlin pick up an important point.

Written by: Saad Maan, Forta Evening News

Despite the odds favouring the Croatians, Berlin would maintain a steady defence to keep them out. Despite the Germans failing to score many goals, their impeccable defence has kept them competitive.

The first half would start with Zagreb pouring on the pressure, but failing to direct any of their attempts goalwards. Berlin would quickly regain the momentum, as Romeo Keitel's header beat the keeper, but struck the bar in the 27th minute of play.

The half concluded with a 0-0 scoreline, which Zagreb captain Scooter McGavin wasn't happy with. Zagreb would see a return to their more robust 3-4-3 shape, abandoning the fluid experiment.

Despite the changes, we would not see any goals whatsoever. Zagreb kept it tight, but failed to get any dangerous attempt on goal. Berlin, happy with the point, sat back and played the clock.

This draw means that Zagreb maintain their second place, with London just a point behind. Berlin now climbs above Warsaw to 13th place, just one point behind surprise relegation rivals AD Lisboa.
