Match Summary

MD 11: BRUSSELS KV 1-1 FK BELGRADE

✍️ Written by: Domenico Jordano (Nightingale Press)

The two participants might begin with the same letter, but their situations vastly differ. Brussels had a chance to jump Deportivo Madrid in the standings. Meanwhile, the last placed Belgrade needed to grab everything they could to have any hope of escaping relegation.

The first half was quite uneventful, with no teams caring to do anything other than rolling the ball around. The defenders immediately stopped any dangerous moments. Only Ricardo's header and Tijani's free kick were of any significance. Despite this, the half ended 0-0.

The beginning of the second half wasn't any better. However, both teams upped their pace in the 75th minute. As a result of the increased tempo, Brussels kept knocking on the door, eventually winning a foul in a dangerous area. With a stunning free kick, Tijani and Brussels take a late lead.

The blue waffles weren't celebrating for long, though. Just eight minutes later and Xavier Ali equalized it for Belgrade after a lovely move. The Serbians kept pushing on, looking for a winner, but it was all for naught.

The match finished 1-1, with both goals coming late. Despite not getting a victory, both sides can be happy with a point as it furthers their search for glory.
