Amine Amzal puts London back into the title race!
By: Yureen Sheikh, Dubai TV

Last season's league champs are up against an in-form Amsterdam. The Football United Cup runner ups are currently at 9th place, with 10 points behind London in the league. Home team London lined up in a 4-3-3 with Tomar Jr. behind Yuri Hajji and Amine Amzal in attack, on the other hand, Amsterdam showed up in a 4-4-2 with Damon Nurse and Dmytro Junior out wide, and the fan favourite Will O'Neill starts with Tumor Boruta as Centre Forwards.

London started dominating the game right from the first half whistle with over 90% possession. Very early in the 6th minute, London wins a throw-in near the right corner and Tomar Junior immediately sends a long cross hoping to reach his teammates, the ball gets deflected by two Amsterdam defenders, and it falls down to Yuri Hajji's feet who easily finished the tap-in to make it 1-0. Late in the first half, during the 47th minute, Amsterdam replied with an equaliser, after a quick counter from the right flank, John Smith sends a beautiful cross into the box and Will O'Neill scored a volley into the top corner with a class touch.

After a solid first half performance, Amsterdam gave away a freekick on the edge of the box in the 54th minute. Captain Amine Amzal steps up and scores the freekick into the top left corner to make it 2-1.

Amsterdam lost their patience and went all out attack in search of an equaliser but as soon as they lost possession during the 82nd minute, Ray Peest made an incisive run out wide on the right side and passed the ball to Amzal, the Moroccan striker completed his brace with an easy finish as he was standing unmarked near the penalty spot.

Late in the game, during the 85th minute, Amsterdam won a throw-in and Damon Nurse sends a quick cross into the box as there were 5 players pushing forward. It was the substitute Bai Chao who collects the ball and quickly scores with a curling shot into the left corner.
