MD 16: MILANO CALCIO 0-1 FC BERLIN

The Germans surge up the table with a scrappy victory.

Written by: Saad Maan

With just three points separating the two teams, Milano were hoping to get back to their winning ways at home, whilst Berlin were looking to spoil the party.

It wouldn't take long for the Germans to do just that. In the 17th minute of play, Romeo Keitel found himself on the edge of the box following a promising pass from Harry Viener. The striker, using his big body to block the defenders, made space for himself before smashing it past the goalkeeper, giving Berlin an early lead.

The rest of the first half was anything but promising for both of the teams. The majority of it being played in the midfield without anything of substance being created.

The first-half would conclude with both sides being content with their performances, other than a frustrated Diego Fantastico who could be seen heading back to the locker-room before any of his teammates.

Similarly to the first half, the second half didn't offer us any form of entertainment. However, the $500 man would look to change that in the 85th minute when he was sent through on goal, before entirely missing the net.

The match concluded, with Berlin taking home a narrow but ever so important win. Berlin climbed three positions up to 10th, sitting one position behind Milano due to their inferior goal difference. Milano have now gained one point in their last five matches.
