Match Summary

Paris' magical run ended by Roma
By: Ray Porter

Paris went into this game with a lot of positive energy after they miraculously survived the Group of Death. However, Roma SS proved a size too big in the Quarter Finals.

The game started with an early freekick by Rizzo, but Roma's center back hit the bar from around 25 meters. The first half was a dull showing, as both teams struggled to create chances. The Frenchmen went into half-time without a shot.

Paris did better in the second half, being gifted a freekick in the 53rd minute after a questionable call against Rizzo. Nootazuki stepped up, but only hit the wall. Roma answered with a good chance for Henry Kamel, but he missed out by a few centimeters as his shot from the edge of the box went wide. The biggest chance of the game fell to Paris' striker Semmi, who was unmarked in the box, but his shot went completely wide in the 88th minute.

With the game still level after 90 minutes, the teams went into extra time. After an uneventful first half, many suspected penalties were a foregone conclusion, but Henry Kamel proved them wrong. The Englishman scored after a great long ball by substitute Cunningham, finishing the 1v1 with a fantastic Volley. Roma advance after their 1-0 win and face AD Lisboa in the Semi-Final.
