MD 17: SC HAMBURG 23 0-10 DEPORTIVO MADRID

by: Nicklas Ulykke

With the game being between 4th placed Deportivo Madrid and 7th placed SC Hamburg 23, there were no huge favorites named before the game as Madrid had endured a disappointing season and, on the contrary, Hamburg’s debut season had been incredible! 7th place in a league of 16 teams as a newly promoted club is no easy feat, however Deportivo Madrid ran out overwhelming winners as they ended the historic night with an astonishing 10-0 scoreline, breaking the Fantasy Simulation League goalscoring record.

The impressive attacking prowess of Danish poacher Loørd Bendtner and Grenadian utility man, primarily forward however, Bobby Shmurda. Bendtner broke the deadlock just six minutes into the game with a strong finish past Becky Blake into the back of the net to put Madrid 1-0 up early on. The one two between Bobby Shmurda and Loørd Bendtner showed the chemistry of the two Deportivo Madrid strikers who have played together in the past at Norden FK. Bendtner backheeled it to Shmurda, for him to set Bendtner free on a one versus one with the goalkeeper. In typical Bendtner fashion, he buried it to make it his 3rd goal in his last 3 games, but that wouldn’t be all from those two.

In the 16th minute, Loørd Bendtner would get his second goal after Lennox Vito teed him up at the top of the box. The Danish talisman needed just one touch to set himself up to score a powerful shot that doubled Madrid’s lead.

Not even 4 minutes later, Bendtner was once again involved in a goal, artfully chipping the ball over the Hamburg defense Marcus Wood, who might’ve found it harder to miss than to score. (Then again, it’s Marcus Wood, so probably not).

In the 42nd minute, Bobby Shmurda made it 4-0 with his first goal of the game. Left wing-back Hussein Joaquin put in a trivela cross for Shmurda to cushion a header past Becky Blake, dominating the defenders who were chanceless against the imperious attacker.

10 minutes after the restart, Loørd Bendtner completed his hat trick with a sweetly struck first time finish, after amazing work from Vito to set Bendtner up again at the top of the box.

About 6 minutes later, captain Billy Boyo smashed in a banger from the edge of the box after brilliant give-and-go play from Deportivo Madrid. Substitute Jolé Molé assisted Boyo with a trivela ground pass, adding extra flair to the whole play.

In the 70th minute, Billy Boyo received the ball again at the top of the box and played a ball across the box which astonishingly found central defender Eye Amgroot. Having scored in his previous game, he made no mistake as he placed the ball in the back of the net to make it 7-0 with about 20 minutes to go.

4 minutes later, Bendtner found Shmurda with a lovely pass who then put the ball on a plate for captain Boyo who banged it into the roof of the net.

Deportivo Madrid were not done yet as Loørd Bendtner added his fourth and Madrid’s ninth, escaping the defender and putting the ball onto his strong foot and then blasting the ball past the Hamburg goalkeeper.

SC Hamburg 23 earned a corner late on which was cleared by the Madrid defense towards Lennox Vito who dribbled down the left flank. He squared it to Bendtner in the middle, who played a beautiful lofted pass perfectly into Vito’s feet, and he got his first of the night, and Madrid’s tenth.

Their positions in the table remained unchanged after Matchday 17 was complete.
