VIENNA 0 - 1 AMSTERDAM: REVIEW

Vienna stunned as Bendtner fails to lead in Scruyazelv's absence. An adept finish from newly recruited Massimo Cruz was enough to send Amsterdam through to the League Cup final.

By: Saad Maan, Forta Evening News

It was a near-perfect opening ten minutes from the Dutch as they came flying out of the blocks. Shugaar Plum sent in a cross for Pepe Lozano, who headed it wide. The players knew the stakes, and it was shown on the pitch. In the 35th minute, Tumor Boruta would send Massimo Cruz, who had recently made his debut for Amsterdam, through on goal. Cruz made no mistake and slotted it past Marin Petrov.

With Amsterdam up 1-0 going into half-time, Vienna's stand-in captain Bendtner looked stressed and confused. Unable to provide coherent tactical instructions and changes to the league officials.

Bendtner's incompetence was made even more obvious after Vienna's dull second half performance - seemingly opting to focus on a tight defense rather than launching attacks. Amsterdam lived up to their reputation, able to see out the game and advance to the final.
