Match Summary

Vienna stay 3 points clear, despite a worrying start

By: Samantha Lennon
Vienna, desperate to start turning their draws into wins, hosted the league's last placed team, Paris, who were in search of points to aid their survival. On paper, this would be an easy win for the Austrians, but that wasn't the case. Don't count Paris out just yet.
It took 6 minutes for the game's opening goal, but not for the team you'd expect. Or maybe you would, as the Parisians had the better start. Paris' Espresso whipped in a great cross which was superbly headed by Lehmann into the Vienna goal. King Hart, on good form, was at fault, being unable to win the header. Perhaps with Finglebottom that goal wouldn't go in. Make up your own mind.
However, their lead was short-lived. In the 18th minute, the league's top scorer, Hoffmann, capitalized on some brilliant work from Jaxon, slotting the ball into the corner using his left foot. Paris were the masters of their own downfall here, though, as some atrocious defending gave Vienna multiple opportunities to level the game, which they did.
We're seeing an influx of headed goals recently in the league, and 7 minutes later we got another one. A Vienna corner, taken by Keetch (who now is no longer being investigated) found the head of captain Mungo Scruyazelv, and then found the back of the net. Vienna managed to turn this game around in 20 minutes, and it looked unlikely that was going to change.
The game ended 2-1 in Vienna, with very little happening after the goals. Vienna continued their dominance of the game, and a very valuable three points would mean they'd remain three points clear of their title race rivals Zagreb, who they are yet to play.
As for Paris, they can't be too disheartened by not picking up any points from the top of the league, as they have seemingly the upper hand on Roma in 11th. The French side look much better than previously, whilst Roma continue to get worse. Public opinion is that the Italians will finish last.
