Zagreb NK gives their home fans a show: Zagreb vs Berlin Match Review

By: Drew Peacock

Zagreb opened the scoring straight after kick off after (controversial) muscle-man Bebe Barry picked up a loose ball and played Giosuppe Spaghettini in behind the defense. The left side defender turned attacker slotted it home with his strong left foot to see the hosts take a 1-0 lead in the 2nd minute. With those celebrations still ongoing, Zagreb were able to get another goal in the 6th minute. After a quick turn from defending to attacking, midfielder Jamal Kane was able to break free from the Berlin defense and found Spaghettini to double the lead, 2-0, this time with his head.
Berlin were able to get one back, through Kodai Senga in the 27th minute. The striker was able to find the end of Tremblant's corner kick to bring the game back into focus for the visitors. Both teams were able to create chances, but not convert before half time, the score remained 2-1. Captain Barry decided to bring on Marcus Neagu and Akiyama Hernandez for the second half, Alexei Alpha and Jay Sobaksu giving way.

Back to the action in the second half as Zagreb scored 4 more times in 18 minutes. After Aki PawPaw made a stop on the edge of the box, he found Barry to start a quick counter. Barry found a channel on the left flank and sent in a beautiful far post cross begging to be dunked in by Neagu, 3-1, 50th minute. In a similar break, just two minutes later, Barry exploited the left flank again, this time crossing in to Spaghettini who was able to score the poor clearance by Colton Russell Jr. In the 60th minute, Barry found his goal from just outside the box via the right post and in. There was nothing Rimjob Remmington could do to stop this absolute beauty. The final goal of the match came from a keeper started attack that had a bit of one two buckle my shoe action from "Sushi Taco" Hernandez and Scooter McGavin, 6-1, 68th minute.

Before the game ended, that paid would nearly repeat the feat but Hernandez's next attempt went wide. In a final push to score, Tomar Jr found himself one on one with the Zagreb GK, but was unable to convert. At full time, Spaghettini rightfully claimed the match ball. Zagreb 6-1 Berlin.
