No mercy from the title favourites as Hamburg gets blitzed

By: Ray Porter

In this summer, Deportivo Madrid built the strongest team in the league by adding Bobby Shmurda and Loørd Bendtner to their attack. Today would mark the latter's impressive debut against promoted side SC Hamburg. It only took 10 minutes for the Danish to get on the scoresheet, as he turns a defender in the box, leading to a finish into the bottom right corner. In the build up, Lawbender found Wood at the edge of the box, the American held off his defender and passed it to the young Striker. Madrid continued to dominate and after a long ball, Shmurda laid the ball off to his strike partner Bendtner. The debutant would be blocked at first, but his second attempt would find the back of the net. With a Bendtner brace, Madrid would lead 2-0 at the break. The grace period wouldn't live for long, however, as Madrid's Tobi Lawbender showed some impressive skills in the tight Hamburg midfield, navigating through it and finding Bendtner in the box. With his third of the evening, the Dane would finish the game off after 49 minutes. Late into the second half, Hamburg would find a constellation goal, as Madrid failed to clear a Dakota Scott cross. The cross deflected off Jolé Molé, fell to Isagi Yoichi who, trying to clear it, kicked the ball straight into Yaya Banana's torso, from there it travelled to Akiyama Hernandez at the back stick. The young striker wouldn't need to hit it home, however, as James Newt would beat his own keeper. Madrid went on to win the game 3-1, demonstrating their dominance of the league.
