Milano Calcio Clinches First Ever League Victory in Tense Battle Against Berlin

By: Wolfgang Fötze

Newcomers Milan entered the game with a point to prove after their debut league match ended in a 1-1 draw against Brussels, where they narrowly escaped defeat. On the other side, Berlin came off a goalless draw against Norden in their previous season opener, setting the stage for an intriguing battle. The match burst into action in the 8th minute when Babatunde Agachuthu, famed for his World Cup final opener, found the back of the net for Milan with a clever finish across goal. The breakthrough was helped by a seamless connection with his World Cup teammate, Moise Bean, whose assist sent Milan's fans into a frenzy. The match continued with cautious play from both teams, resulting in a tense and cagey atmosphere. Romeo Keitel provided a glimmer of hope for Berlin in the 32nd minute with a powerful shot from outside the box that cannoned off the post, leaving Milan's defence breathing a sigh of relief. Moise Bean, a constant threat, showcased his skill once again in the 39th minute. Dribbling past two defenders while storming down the byline, he cut inside and unleashed a fierce shot that Berlin's goalkeeper, Rimjob Remmington, just barely parried away. The second half unfolded with Milan's resolute defence thwarting Berlin's every move. Despite their efforts, Berlin struggled to create any clear opportunities, a testament to Milan's well-organized backline. As the game approached its climax, Berlin attacker Romeo Keitel found himself in a golden opportunity in the 80th minute, facing off against Milan goalkeeper, Riku Nohomo, in a one-on-one situation. However, Keitel failed to find the target. Just minutes later in the 85th minute, Keitel had one final chance to make a difference, but his shot missed the mark as Milan's defence held firm.
When the final whistle blew, Milano Calcio celebrated their first ever win in FSL, ending the game with a 1-0 victory. Milan's early goal proved to be the decisive factor and their resolute defence secured the win. Berlin, despite their efforts, couldn't find the breakthrough they sought.
